Today was actually pretty warm compared to recent days, but I guess we are in for some more cold this week. The horses tried out their blankets yesterday and Friday. (This is Deja on the left in her snazzy new coat.) Friday especially was brutally cold with wind chills way below zero. The horses were only out a few hours midday (just long enough for Chris and me to clean stalls and get hay, water, etc. ready for them to come in again (with lots of help from Carla!)
I don't think Pepper was really cold, but it looks like he is trying to crawl under the blanket with Ziegy in this photo!
Tapper is warm and cozy under her blanket even th
ough her nose looks pretty frosty, and Dolly and Ziegy are comparing notes on
their duds with Josey looking on. I didn't plan for them to all be in purple (except Deja who has green). Dolly already had her blanket, and purple was all that was available in Tapper and Ziegy's size. They both take an 81". You measure from the center of their chests to the center of their tails and that is their size. Deja is a 72", Ceres is 87", and Scooby is off the charts!
