This has been (and continues to be) a difficult week. It has been extremely cold with wind chills in the 15 - 25 below zero range. The horses stayed in all day on Tuesday, and the rest of the week they have been going out late and coming in early. Of course this means a lot more chores to do. They are in again this morning, I'll put them out between 9 and 10. We are supposed to warm up quite a bit starting this afternoon, that will be welcome.
Sadie went in on Tuesday to have her teeth cleaned and a lumpy wart removed from her head. She kept scratching at it and making it bleed and then Rosy felt it was her job to clean it up - yuck! They were able to cauterize it off so no stitches - good!
The worst part of the week has been Sundance's health. Aside from the getting up problems he has been showing signs that other parts of his body are failing. His mind and heart are strong and young but his body is just giving out. He has been with me for 17 years and Heather (vet) is coming tomorrow to put him down. Like I said, a VERY BAD week.....
