Better Days.....

The last few days have been warm (40's and 50's), sunny, and gorgeous! Then last night we got a lot of rain and a little snow. It's warming up again now, and should be nice this afternoon. Things have been pretty quiet this week. I've seen a lot of turkeys, and the foxes have been out and about, I see them every day. I went to the feed store earlier this week, I meant to bring a sign for the bulletin board saying I am looking for boarders again but I forgot it! Pepper will be leaving this month to go home to Jean's and I will have 2 stalls open. I need to fill them with boarders before I'm tempted to fill them myself!!! This is Josey, Abby, Ziegy and Pepper enjoying some warmer temperatures!

Carla and I groomed Scooby on Friday. (This is him napping in the snow.) He's shedding, but not a lot yet. We also shaved up his front legs where he has the chronic problems of scratches, scarring, and swelling. Once shaved we cleaned them well with betadine and then put some lotion for scratches on them. I haven't done this for a while because it's been so cold - Scooby really needed it! We are going to work on Dolly today...

The farrier is coming on April 4th, and he will put shoes on so we can start riding! The vet comes on the 6th to do spring shots so that will be a busy week. She is also going to take a look at Deja's hind legs, Deja has been having trouble picking them up for Carla to clean her feet. We are also going to talk with her about Ceres (photo). Chris and I are out of ideas and hopefully Heather will have some. Ceres is still not eating grain and she is losing weight and muscle. She's not a very happy horse right now, and Chris is worried about her.

The dogs have been enjoying the better weather. It's nice that Sadie can run around now without disappearing in the snow! Everything looked really pretty this morning with the tiny amount of fresh snow covering.... (I'm very glad it was a TINY amount!!!)
