Riding... Riding... Riding...
Well, the long weekend is over and Carla and I got in as much riding as we could. We did some exploring and tried some new trails, and we went on our longest ride this year (yet!). We were out every day, and saw lots of interesting things and beautiful views. Monday was our long ride, 4 hours! We went up the old Stagecoach Rd to the Bartonsville trail, down into Bartonsville and around onto Pleasant Valley Rd, then to Boedetker Rd., then the trail back home. Tapper, Ziegy, Carla and I were all tired after that!!!
Aside from riding, we have been hoping for some rain. We are in a drought and had no rain the whole month of August. Storms seemed to go around us, and we had thunder, lightening, and power outages, but no rain! Everything is dry and dusty and it's playing havoc with allergies and dust sensitivities for horses, dogs, and people. The pasture is basically non-existent because nothing will grow. The plus side is that I haven't had to mow my lawn since July, but I would happily (sort of)
mow
if we would just get some rain...
